Normally there is a large amount of alcohol involved, but yes I have managed to fall asleep on the train.

My one big experience of this goes right back to when I was studying IT at technical college. I went out for a big night with some of the students who were studying accounting (it was a dual strand diploma). But of course my definition of a big night differed from theirs.

To me a big night is not officially recorded unless you see the sunrise the next day but unfortunately the group I was out with didn't see it the same way. This is going back a long way but I remember being out in the city at around 12 o'clock at night and offering to share my shoes with a homeless guy who wanted to get into a nightclub.

I think both of us had too many shandies to continue with the transaction and my next memory is going to central train station and seeing that the last train had already left.

I waited for the first train in the morning and all I remember off the trip is the conductor (and this is when they still had conductors) waking me up because I had arrived at my station.

All I can say is never again...

Depends on the train. And who is standing next to me. Sometimes I don't dare to close my eyes...
