Today on Fox 5 news there was the following breaking story:
“Weeing in the shower can help prevent and cure athletes foot”
This is not a joke!!

Brooklyn Bridge
I have added some new photos to Flickr of the trip Sam and I had to the pier near Brooklyn bridge.
We went to a shopping center next to a pirate ship museum (well I thought they were pirate ships!) and just outside there was a free concert. So we listened to some music, had an American hotdog (which was disgusting) and relaxed by the water front.
I was told by someone that the people on stage were the New York Doll. Has anyone heard of them before? I didn’t think much of there music, it was a bit alternative and there was too much shouting. They all looked like they were hitting their 50’s/60’s yet were wearing the tightest trousers ever, nearly made me vomit my hotdog up.

Photos at Night
Does anyone have any advice on how to take photos at night?
I tried to take some photos of Little Italy and China Town last night but all the photos I took are crap!
I don’t understand – do you have the flash on because there’s not enough light or off so they flash doesn’t show up in your photo? Also, why do most of my pictures come out blurred at night even though they shouldn’t be burred?
I have added the best of the worse photos to my Flickr account.
China and Italy in one
Yesterday evening I was fed up with sitting in my apartment so I jumped on the tube to China town and Little Italy. I had a great time walking around the shops and restaurants.
Little Italy is a street just off China Town yet there was a huge difference in the two areas. I found China town to be an slightly poorer area with lots of people on the streets rummaging through all the rubbish and the shops were selling cheap tourist tat. I didn’t find any of restaurants very welcoming, they looked like they were just for locals.
Little Italy was a complete contrast. I felt like the people who lived and work there are proud of their area and want to invite people in to try their culture. The streets were very clean, most of the restaurants had seating outside and they all looked welcoming. Even the Italian people advertising the restaurants were friendly and not pushy (unlike a lot of places in New York). The only big downside for me was the number of cigars! There were cigar shops everywhere you looked and as a result, there were loads of men smoking them.

Flickr Sets
I have just moved all my Flickr photos into sets so they are easier to manage and view. It was so much fun – but i really should get on with some work today! Blogging is addictive, anyone know of a “blogging obsessed” help group? Arg – want to write more posts….

Flickr Upgrade
After using up my upload capacity for Flickr, I decided to upgrade my account to pro. I can now continue uploading my photos from New York… YAY.. and I can also organise them better into sets so they’re easier to look at.
Good use of 13.49GBP for a years subscription.

Third World New York
I feel like I’m in a third world country at the moment. Neither my mobile, work email or any Internet connection is working correctly!
I have had a number of disagreements with my mobile phone company Cingular who seem to think I’m an idiot and don’t understand mobile technology. Thank god for the Mobile and Ubiquitous module I did at university. I may have hated the subject purely for the reason that I cant say Ubiquitous correctly but it is one of the few things I did at university which have helped me in real life.
Cingular – you can’t fob me off that easily, I’m going to make your life hell tomorrow!
Apart from being so behind from Europe with Mobile technology, you also have to pay to receive text messages and phone calls! Hello, has no one explained to the American mobile phone companies what a SH!TE idea that is! I have managed to waste so much money from receiving texts from unknown senders and pranks calls, wrong numbers and advertising. Why should I have to pay if someone else wants to get hold of me, they should be paying for the pleasure of speaking to me!

Rats in Bags
I have seen so many small dogs in woman’s handbags while I’ve been here. I’m sure this should be a form of animal cruelty; no living being should have to spend hours under someone’s armpits!
Shopping Shopping Shopping
I had a great retail therapy session on Saturday – I went to Century 21 in the Southern part of Manhattan.
It’s a great store for female shopaholics who like fighting over extremely cheap designer clothes. I managed to find 3 tops for $35 and a pair of trainers for $16. With the pound so strong at the moment (almost 2 dollars to the pound) I feel that I have no choice but to buy some more!
Boob Jobs
In a city were there are more plastic surgeons than medical doctors, and more fake boobs than bouncy ones, I was amazed that I had such difficultly shopping for bras.
Being slightly larger up top than most people, I used to find it difficult in the UK until I wrote several letter to Marks & Spencers, TopShop, New Look and Debenhams about their discrimination against big busted people. They all assured me that big busted bras would be appearing more in their stores and so far, everyone apart from Topshop have kept their promise.
Why do designers assume that us big busted people want to wear granny breast reduction bras which only come in white? I’m proud of my melons, they have saved me a fortune in boob implants, why would I want to reduce them!
